Looking for an alternative to Kahoot?
The live quiz format you know, kept simple.
Questions on the big screen, answers on each player's own device, a leaderboard after every round. Questy does that one thing well, and the free plan covers a real game with a real class or team.
Why Questy
Free for real groups
The free plan has no limit on the number of games and holds up to 75 players in each: a whole class, with room to spare.
Players never sign up
A six-digit PIN, a nickname and a character. No accounts and no email addresses for players.
Kind to the back of the room
Players see whether they are climbing or slipping, not a public ranking of who is last. Their exact place is revealed at the end.
Your results stay yours
Every game is kept in your history, question by question and player by player, and can be saved as a CSV file.
No ads, no tracking cookies
Questy shows no adverts and sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
AI when you want it
Draft a quiz from your own notes or documents and review it before it is saved. Three drafts are free; Plus includes it.

Questions
- Is Questy connected to Kahoot?
- No. Questy is an independent product. Kahoot! is a trademark of its owner, and Questy is not affiliated with or endorsed by it.
- Is Questy really free?
- Yes: write your own quizzes and play them with up to 75 players as often as you like, at no cost. Plus is $48 a year, or $8 month to month, and you can try it free for 30 days without giving a card. Everything on this page that is not marked Plus is free.
- Can I bring my existing questions?
- You can type them into the editor or paste a quiz in as JSON. There is no direct import from other quiz tools yet.
- What kinds of question does Questy have?
- Multiple choice with two to four options, true or false, and typed answers, each with its own time limit. Any question can carry a picture.
- What does Kahoot have that Questy leaves out?
- Questy has three kinds of question (multiple choice, true or false, and typed answers) and one way to play: live and together. Polls, puzzles and slides between questions are things Questy does not do.
- How many players can join?
- 75 on the free plan, 300 on Plus, 1,000 on Teams and 2,000 with an event pass.
